北海銀灘旅遊度假區位於北海市南部海濱，距北海市區8公里。銀灘西起僑港鎮漁港，東至大冠沙，由西區、東區和海域沙灘區組成，東西綿延約24公里，海灘寬度在30--3000米之間，陸地面積12平方公里，總面積約38平方公里。沙灘均由高品位的石英砂堆積而成，在陽光的照射下，潔白、細膩的沙灘會泛出銀光，故稱銀灘，北海銀灘以其“灘長平、沙細白、水温淨、浪柔軟、無鯊魚”的特點，被譽為“中國第一灘”。
北海銀灘度假區由三個度假單元(銀灘公園、海灘公園、恆利海洋運動度假娛樂中心)和陸岸住宅別墅、酒店羣組成。海水浴、海上運動、沙灘高爾夫、排球、足球等沙灘運動以及大型音樂噴泉觀賞、旅遊娛樂等是北海銀灘旅遊度假區的主要內容。

銀灘公園內，樓台閣宇風格各異;林蔭小道曲折宛延;椰樹林獨具風情。信步海堤，海天一色，白雲朵朵，令人如入仙境，留連忘返。西南端還有冠頭嶺，林木茂盛，葱蘢蒼翠，像一條青龍橫卧海邊，臨海壁陡，峯險洞奇，登高可觀日落日出，倚壁可觀濤望海。

北海的氣候總體上説是相當好的，一年到頭SUNNY的日子很多，你總能見到蔚藍的晴空，非常適合海濱休閒度假。
這裏冬季較短(每年的12月到第二年的2月)，夏季較長(5月至11月)，春秋兩季不明顯，時間也短。
在冬季裏，日照時間一長，日間氣温上升，就會很暖和。偶爾幾個春節這裏的人們可穿着襯衣、短裙在街上走動。
夏季還是比較熱的(至少在室外)，不過在樹蔭下會很涼快，陣陣海風拂面吹過，舒服極了。夜晚一般會很涼快。如果你住在高層樓房，你甚至不用開電扇、空調.夏季着裝與國內其它城市無異，到海邊注意防曬;
冬季無須穿棉衣、毛褲，但有時氣温降到6-7度，而大部分酒店無暖氣，北方的朋友可能感覺很難受。(越南各旅遊目的地夏季氣温一般會略高1-2度，冬季和北海差不多)

大海一望無際，它每天都是那樣迷人。凌晨六點鍾，太陽是在海平線上，海水一片閃閃爍爍的深紅。中午，太陽高高地掛在天空中，遊客們都撐起了大傘。轟――個大浪蠻橫地闖上沙灘，發出一聲巨響，彷彿連地底也顫抖了一下。海浪拍打在露出海面的“老虎石”上，發出了一聲巨響，像一羣猛虎在怒吼，真使人有點膽戰心驚。傍晚還真迷人，西方的天，還燃燒着一片橘紅色的晚霞，大海也被這霞光染成了紅色。晚上大海經過了一天的宣囂，變得温順了。
