③性格優勢及能力。着重強調自己的個性及能力對所報考專業的積極作用，如學術性專業，可用steady(踏實)、careful(細心認真)、 active, aggressive(有進取心的)等。其他一些表性格能力的形容詞：logical(有條理的)、responsible(有責任心)、 dependable(可靠的)、efficient(有效率的)、amicable(友善的)、analytical(善於分析的)、 cooperative(合作的)、creative(有創造力的)、disciplined(有紀律的)、energetic(精力充沛的)、 faithful(忠誠的), gentle(文雅的)、independent(有主見的)、innovative(創新的)、motivated(積極的)、modest(謙虛的)、punctual(守時的)、precise(一絲不苟的)等。
④興趣愛好。介紹自己對學習重視的同時，也應介紹一下自己的興趣愛好。需要注意的是：應避免一些可能引起考官反感的興趣，如watching tv，playing computer games等。考生可以從旅遊、音樂、體育等方面入手，並簡要説明這些愛好對你的積極影響(open my mind, relax myself, enhance physical quality)。
⑤對所報考院校及專業的興趣。首先同樣需要確保院校及專業的英文名稱的正確性;其次強調對報考專業感興趣，如平時通過相關書籍、期刊、新聞等途徑瞭解該專業領域的動態。
