As a child I often accompanied my father to his small coin shop and spenthours watching him work. When I was older, I sometimes set up displays, waitedon customers, and even balanced the books. This experience instilled in me thedesire to own and manage my own business someday, yet I understand that thebusiness world today is more complex. This complexity requires more education,and with that in mind, I am applying to the Master’s of Business Administrationprogram at Indiana University Bloomington (IUB).
In addition to my helping out in my father’s business, I have had numerousother work experiences that further enhance my qualifications for this resume enumerates the various positions I have held at Kerasotes Theaters,Chili’s restaurants, and Indiana University’s new Student Recreational SportsCenter (SRSC), and what all of these positions have in common is an emphasis onserving the public effectively. Further, as an assistant manager at theShowplace 11 and a staff coordinator at the SRSC, I have gained valuableexpertise in managing employees and creating work schedules. Both of thesepositions have allowed me to develop my sales and people skills, which areextremely important in an increasingly service-driven marketplace.
Not all of my work experience has been as a paid employee. Part of myvolunteering experience at Middleway House, the local battered women’s shelter,involved extensive work on computers, including word processing, organizingdatabases and creating spreadsheets. Also, I recently participated in aninternship program for academic credit with the Eli Lilly corporation in thepersonnel division. As a management intern, I was able to watch the workings ofa major corporation up close and would like the opportunity to combine myexperiences with the theoretical background available in the MBA program at IUB,with its emphasis on computers, marketing and human resources.
My successful internship is one element of my overall academic success asan undergraduate here at IUB, yet I have also made time for a variety ofextracurricular activities, including working for my sorority and competing inintramural basketball. My positive experiences here have resulted in my desireto stay in Bloomington to continue my academic endeavors; furthermore,continuing my education here would allow me to make important business contacts,with the career goal of opening my own computer consulting firm in theMidwest.

I am interested in the field of study of Organizational Behavior. In the past， I have had the experience of working in settings where the people and the corporate cultures of the companies were all different. I have found that there is a great difference in the both the behaviors of people and of their organizations， depending on whether they are state-owned enterprises (SOEs)， large multinational firms， or small to medium sized foreign enterprises. One simple example is that of the ability of an employee to act independently without direct instructions from his or her boss. In many Chinese organizations， acting without direct instructions is considered a form of disrespect towards the supervisor， who is generally offended by such behavior. In my experience and research， such organizations tend to have low operating efficiency with the employees losing their innate ability to take the initiative.

Many people have different notions of what thisword actually means. When I was challenged to use different items to describewhat leadership actually is, I thought this was going to be a hard and obnoxioustask. What could I learn from comparing leadership to a stuffed animal or arubber chicken? But when I sat down to come up with a couple of answers, Irealized that leadership could be compared to almost anything a personwants.
All I know about leadership I learned from a calculator. A calculator canadd everything together to come up with the best answer. It can delet e what isunnecessary and only include what is important. It can solve any type ofproblem. These are all important equalities a leader has to have. A leader hasto be able to add all of the ideas together to make the best possible ers have to know how to decipher the good and the bad out of an idea. Theyhave to be versatile and know how to deal with different types of issues.
All I know about leadership I learned from a ball. A ball is able to bounceback up after it is dropped. It is round and has no creases. A ball can bethrown back and forth to different people. All of these qualities are alsoleadership qualities. A leader has to be ready for every situation that isthrown at him or her. He or she has to be able to bounce back from any setbacksand never dwell on the past. Leaders have to exhibit many qualities and never beclosed-minded about a situation. A leader must be able to delegate when he orshe cannot get the work done. They have to trust everyone they lead to be ableto "catch the ball" and keep a project rolling.
This activity made me realize that being a leader is so much more than justhaving authority and having the ability to take control of a situation. A leaderhas to be trusting of all the people he or she leads and, leaders must be ableto combine ideas into one encompassing idea. They cannot sit in the backgroundand watch events happen; they have to jump in and be involved. They should notdelegate all their responsibilities away.
Leadership is more than what the dictionary says it is.
I learned through all of this that I have many of these qualities.
I have the ability to solve problems, lead through adversity, and beversatile. From answering this question, I realized that I could leadeffectively, even if my leadership style is different from other I joined student council in my frst year of high school, I did not havethese qualities because I was never put into a situation where I had to lead. Iwas too reserved to try. When I tried, I learned that I could succeed in this. Idid not realize until I answered this question about leadership. I was neverable to see that being a leader is not just about taking control of a group andtelling everyone what to When I was a freshman, I thoughtleadership was this. I did not know that did not have to be forceful and strict.I stereotyped a leader then. Thisis where I went wrong. A leader is about beingyourself and never letting anyone change you. 另一件讓我獲益匪淺的業餘嘗試是曲譜。因為很喜歡一段電視配樂，我嘗試把它寫成鋼琴譜。我擁有業餘電子琴五級證書，但這依然不容易。遇到瓶頸後，我求助於網上。然而有多少人會隨便幫助陌生人做這種麻煩事呢?答案是零。於是我便下定決心，靠自己來完成。沒想到經過自己的一番努力真的把它寫成了!從中我明白了另一樣重要的事，那就是自立自強。沒人可以隨便讓你依靠。困難要自己克服才有意義。
所以有理由相信，雖然我於現在的只能做到中上成績，但到大學去學習自己喜歡的，嚮往科目時我一定能做到最好。那時我會選擇自己的事業，全身心投入去完成。相信我做到更好——也希望您可以相信。

升入高中以後，我的綜合素質尤其是文學才能得到了更好的體現。我擔任着安慶一中向未來文學社社長，在這片熱土上播灑着青春的夢想。這期間，我組織並參與多期校刊的編輯和創作，舉辦文學講座，組織採風活動，《中國校園文學》、《遼寧青年》、《中學生優秀作文》……各種報刊上都留下了我年輕而有朝氣的文字。在校園廣播站中，我依靠較強的編採讀寫能力和親切的嗓音成為人氣頗高的主播，帶大家欣賞窗外的風景。

二、一次經歷
20_年9月16日是_紀念日。作為文學社社長，我以此為主題帶頭撰寫了一批稿件。9月15日，我突然接到了校領導的電話，表示欣賞我的文章，並邀請我作為一名學生代表在紀念大會上發言，但必須新擬講稿。進入高三以後學業繁重，當時我也身患感冒，噪音大打折扣，是不是婉拒這次邀請呢?經過了片刻的猶豫之後，我決定給自己一個挑戰的機會。憑着擔任校史講解員所積累的知識，通過查閲相關史料，我很快寫出了講稿《永為國之棟》。
16日早晨，在全校師生、各屆校友和眾多市民的注視下，我從容地走上主席台，深吸一口氣，朗聲説道：“親愛的老師、同學們，今天，當我們翻開安慶一中厚重的史稿，我們不會忘記這樣一個日子……”當我結束髮言、鞠躬致謝時，台下爆發出的熱烈掌聲告訴我;我做到了!校長讚許地拍了拍我的頭，同學們紛紛向我表示祝賀——大家都沒有發現我的噪音的小祕密。當日，我的講稿被選登在《安慶日報》專版上，很多素不相識的師生見到我都説：“你是在大會上發言的※※吧!講得真好!”
雖然這次經歷只是我多彩的高中生活中的一個小小的片段，雖然這不是我最光鮮耀眼的榮譽，但它卻最讓我引以為傲;因為我明白了：相信自己，我可以做得更好!
三、一個夢想
