Also, engineers try to design and locate new power plants to do minimum damage to the environment. However, it may be that we still have a long way to go before we have a "clean" world. Nearly all of the countries are trying hard to prevent and control air pollution. There indeed seems to be no end to tasks that environmentalists will be required to do. People will continually find new ways to control pollution.

The second thing we have to do is to increase the number of professional fire fighters, to whom regular training courses should be offered. Finally, we are to improve the existing fire engines and add more fire facilities to high-rise buildings. In this way, a reliable fire prevention system will be formed.

Stepping into the new century environment pollution has become more serious than ever since. There are different kinds of pollution. Overusing the natural resources has already affected the ecological balance. However the factories still release the toxic air into the sky and the polluted water into the rivers. People still lack of the conscious of protecting the environment. I think it’s time for all of us to do something.
The government should put forward some more strict laws to prevent the environment from being further polluted. And they should let people know more about the importance of environment protection. And we should find the balance between the economic growth and environmental protection. Plant more trees in the deserts and stop cutting down the forest. Forbid the factories to pour the waste water into the rivers directly. Encourage people to use public transportations to work. Both government and ordinary people should join hands together to make our home clean and fresh again. Only in this way our earth could be a better place to live in.

The quality of human life has improved greatly over the past few centuries, but Earth is being harmed more and more by human activity. As we develop our technology, we demand more from our planet. Eventually, this will harm people as well.
Our planet gives us everything we need, but natural resources are not endless. Strip mining devastates whole regions, leaving bare and useless ground. Deforestation removes old growth trees that can't be replaced. Too much fishing may harm fish populations to the point where they can't recover. We are too careless in taking what we want without giving anything back.
There are more people than ever, living longer that ever. So is it any surprise that many areas suffer from too much development? Anyone living in or near a city has experienced "urban sprawl". There is a new shopping area on every corner and new houses, townhouses and apartments everywhere. Traffic gets worse and worse because planners can't keep up with growth. Keeping up with human demand is hard enough. Environmental concerns come in last.
With growth comes pollution. Companies and communities dump waste into water. Landfills are full of trash. Emissions from factories pollute the air. Barrels of industrial waste and worse, radioactive waste, have no safe place to go. If we're not careful, we can harm our planet beyond repair.
People need to respect the Earth and try to preserve it. If we don't, what kind of future will we have?

Let me give you two phenomenons.
Here is the first one. More and more people used to be using air condition ，but how many people ever thought whether this new ,hobby will bring side-effects or not? Maybe just few people. In fact, the side-effect is apparent. The emissions of gases exhausted from air conditioning contain a lot of methane h could cause global warming. By the way, air conditioning will waste a lot of electricity .

Nobody wants to use a broken window or drink with a broken glass or wear a pair of broken glasses. Once it is broken, it becomes waste. The rate of using plastics is increasing day by day. People use plastic bags because they are convenient. When they get home, they throw the plastics way, paying no attention to the environment. The more convenience plastics brings to us, the more plastic waste is produced. This is called “white pollution” as most plastics are white. Some of our products we use every day are made of rubber, just like the tyres and the bottom part of our shoes. It’s true that rubber plays an important role in our life. However, it also brings us some trouble when it has been used for a long time and becomes old. The old tyres become waste because it can’t break down by nature. This is really a big problem.

曾記得在我幼兒時，媽媽給我描述過這樣一幅畫：藍藍的天上白雲飄，白雲下面馬兒跑;高高的山，綠綠的草，清清的河水潺潺的流。生活在這裏的人們互幫互助，親如一家。多美的畫呀!如今，每每憶起，我還是如痴如醉。現在，我已從無知幼兒成長為懵懂少年，我常去我的外婆家。外婆家在鄉下，在外婆家門前有條清澈見底的小河。小的時候，我和夥伴們常在那裏嬉戲、玩耍。一到夏天，一羣羣小蝌蚪就會在小河裏自由自在地游來游去，享受這美好時光。可好景不長，近幾年來那裏建造了許多工廠，一些污水源源不斷地排放入小河中，在加上一些家畜糞便和人們的生活垃圾不斷排入，小河從此失去了它昔日的美麗。天氣一熱，河岸邊河裏的臭味常常招來一些蚊子、蒼蠅到處飛，讓生活在周圍的人們苦不堪言。
這都是怎麼造成的呢?是人們的行為不文明，不愛護環境造成的。如果人們多動一動手，多彎一彎腰，多撿一撿垃圾，一起來愛護我們的地球媽媽就不會造成這樣。
再舉個例子給你們聽聽。有一次我和媽媽去上街，在路上走着走着。突然“砰”的一聲，我轉頭一看，原來是兩輛自行車相對而行時，不知怎麼的碰撞在一起，也不知誰對誰錯，只見那個年紀稍大點的中年人，從地上爬起來後，趕緊對另外一人説：“對不起，對不起，是我騎的快了點!”那個年紀輕些的人從地上爬起來後，一臉怒衝衝，剛想開口罵人，聽到對方這樣一説，反而有點不好意思，故作沒事似的説：“沒關係，沒關係，你下次騎車小心點!”一場劍拔弩弓的“戰爭”就在雙方的諒解中煙消雲散了。
你們看，就是因為雙方的文明言語，化解了人與人間的矛盾。再回首我們身邊，一批文明小天使已活躍在校園內外。馬路上，小英勸媽媽不能闖紅燈;公園裏，童童勸阿姨不要隨地吐痰;酒桌上，小杰讓爸爸少喝酒，不吸煙;教室裏，紅領巾們彎下腰，低着頭，在為環境的保潔而出力……

為了保護我們的環境，我要告訴大家：“保護環境，從我做起，從小事做起”。今天我就告訴大家幾個保護環境的金點子：
1、節約用紙金點子
木材是造紙的主要原料，浪費紙張就等於砍伐森林。珍惜紙張就是在珍惜我們的森林資源。我們可以將舊練習本中未用完的紙張裝訂起來，做草稿本;把草稿紙寫滿，不要只寫幾個數字就扔掉。過期的掛曆可以包書皮;廢報紙可以用來練習寫毛筆字和畫國畫;有些包裝紙，可以做成手工藝品，美化生活。無論是手紙還是餐巾紙，能用手帕代替的就用手帕代替。
2、節約用水金點子
可以把用過的但相對比較乾淨的水衝馬桶、擦地板或者澆花。用水間歇可以把水龍頭關上，避免不必要的浪費。少量的衣服可以用手洗，避免洗衣機洗時使用大量的水。洗澡時，將開頭空放的冷水積蓄起來，可以洗衣服或別的用場。家中安裝節水水龍頭，使用節水馬桶。
3、節約用電金點子
在家或在教室，沒人或沒必要的時候，不開燈、不使用空調;離開房間後隨手關燈。同一個房間，在採光良好的情況下，不用開兩盞燈。上體育課或不在教室上課時，要關好教室電燈、風扇、電腦等;
4、節約其他能源金點子
少用塑料袋塑料是石油產品，不易分解，埋入土壤中十幾年不腐爛。任意處置會造成土壤、河流污染，世界各國正在開展“使用紙口袋”和“可降解塑料袋”的運動。以環保為重，商場少供應塑料袋，顧客自帶購物袋，就可以減少塑料垃圾。超市裏的塑料袋可以當垃圾袋二度使用。
能坐公交車上下學的，就不用專車接送。去很近的地方辦事，就步行或騎自行車去。既環保又鍛鍊身體。同學們，這些環保金點子，你們喜歡嗎?我建議：在班級中開展“節約一滴水、一度電、一張紙，不踐踏草坪，不亂扔垃圾，不隨地吐痰”等活動。我們可以從身邊環保小事做起，從校園做起，以環保公德規範自己的行為。當你扔出瓜皮果殼的時候，請你多走幾步路，把它放入垃圾桶;當你走路看見地上紙張的時候，請你彎彎腰，將它撿起來;當你正想隨地吐痰時，請你想一想他人的健康，用紙將痰包起扔到垃圾桶……

當我踏上陵水這塊神奇的土地時，望着湛藍湛藍的天空，看着碧藍碧藍的海水，撫摸翠綠翠綠的樹木，吸着清新誘人的空氣，我幾乎要陶醉了，這不就是我夢中的人間仙境嗎?這不就是生態環境的建設的典範嗎?這不就是我們每一箇中國人綠色夢的實現嗎?今天的我們在令人心醉的海南聚集，在風景如畫的陵水演講，可是我們不得不承認，全球環境惡化早已成為不爭的事實，地球的容顏在日益衰老，中國各個地區的PM2.5指數飆升彷彿成了不可逆轉的態勢。
面對這樣的情狀，我們究竟應該做些什麼，我們究竟可以做些什麼，我們究竟要拿什麼來挽救我們唯一的家園——地球?
在六十一年前，倫敦，曾經是一座名副其實的霧都。1952年12月5日開始的那場為期四天的濃霧，造成了1.2萬人死亡，是和平時期的倫敦遭受的最大災難。可今天的倫敦，是一座真正的“綠色花園之城”。城區三分之一被森林、花園和公共綠化所覆蓋，擁有100個社區花園、14個城市農場、80公里長的運河和50多個長滿各種花草的自然保護區。六十一年間，倫敦政府推出交通擁堵費，發展公共交通網絡，對高排放高污染的企業徵收高額排污税和環境税……倫敦人不懈努力，只為了與霧開戰，只為了還自己和腳下這片土地一片純淨的天空。
三年前，在哥本哈根當地時間20xx年12月17日晚，著名演員李冰冰與丹麥著名男演員Ken共同主持了“地球一小時哥本哈根之夜”活動。李冰冰被譽為“中國最美麗的環保名片”，她在環保上面很注意細節，比如住酒店自帶牙刷、拖鞋等等。她認為，環保就是積累變綠的過程;我們的行動，就是我們的選擇。她相信每個小行動的集合，意味着保護環境家園的大跨越。
