We'll be okay, won't we?

The one thing that matters

more to me than anything else

in the world... is you and me.

You are my world.

You're the one who gets all

my love and my wishes and my prayers.

But somehow... despite all my

best intentions,

I never feel quite safe enough

or sure enough

to rest assured that I'll always be

able to make you happy.

I need to know.

I need you more than my words can say.

I need to always feel

the warm peaceful feeling

that I get when you hold me.

I need to experience the beauty

of our love that I gently receive

when we caress.

I need for us to remember

all the love that's been given

and all the love that will unfold

each day, between the wonder of you

and the warmth of me.

Notecaress v.

And sometimes,

I just need to know

that we'll be okay... won't we?

I sometimes feel

a little jealous in my thoughts,

imagining that someone else

could please you more than me.

It's just my insecurity

acting up a bit, I guess...

because I know I'm not

the most beautiful,

the most ecticing,

Notejealous adj.

enticing adj.

the most fun, or the

most imaginative person

in the world,

but I do know this —

no matter

how much time goes by,

I can't imagine that

you'll ever find another

who will love you

with a beauty

and a passion

Notepassion n.

and a happiness

like that which I feel for you.

glories of the storm

it begins when a feeling of stillness creeps into my consciousness. every thing has suddenly gone quiet. birds do not chirp. leaves do not rustle. insects do not sing.

the air that has been hot all day becomes heavy. it hangs over the trees, presses the heads of the flowers to the ground, sits on my shoulders. with a vague feeling of uneasiness i move to the window. there, in the west, lies the answer - cloud has piled on cloud to form a ridge of mammoth while towers, rearing against blue sky.

their piercing whiteness is of brief duration. soon the marshmallow rims flatten to anvil tops, and the clouds reveal their darker nature. they impose themselves before the late-afternoon sun, and the day darkens early. then a gust of wind ships the dust along the road, chill warning of what is to come.

in the house a door shuts with a bang, curtains billow into the room. i rush to close the windows, empty the clothesline, secure the patio furnishings. thunder begins to grumble in the distance.

the first drops of rain are huge. they splat into the dust and imprint the windows with individual signatures. they plink on the vent pipe and plunk on the patio roof. leaves shudder under their weight before rebounding, and sidewalk wears a coat of shiny spots.

the rhythm accelerates; plink follows plunk faster and faster until the sound is a roll of drums and the individual drops become an army marching over fields and rooftops. now the first bolt of lightning stabs the earth. it is heaven’s exclamation point. the storm is here!

in order to protect our environment from being polluted, i will do some publicity with my classmates to explain the harmfulneof ugh this people will be able to realize the serious pollution human beings have made to the nature and realize the importance of a clean environment. in future they will reduce pollution in their daily life. harmony with the environment is that we live in on earth, who is a natural son, and not only to natural persons as the conqueror, as we all know, there is only one earth and the mountains on earth, the animals. plant human cells, if it damaged, destroyed nature organizations, to the eradication of mankind. therefore, the environment must be linked with social ethics, character education and practice acts as an important element of it. everyone must fulfil its responsibilities and obligations to protect the environment. environmental problems are becoming more and more serious all over the world. for example, cars have made the air unhealthy for people to breathe and poisonous gas is given off by factories. trees on the hills have been cut down and waste water is being poured continuously into hermore, wherever we go today, we can find rubbish carelessly disposed. pollution is, in fact, threatening our existence. the earth is our home and we have the duty to take care of it for ourselves and for our later generations. fortunately, more and more people have realized these problems. measures have been taken to cope with these problems by the government. laws have been passed to stop pollution. i hope the problem will be solved in the near future and our home will become better and better.

Long, long ago, in the days when fairies, witches, giants and ogres still visited the earth, there lived a king who reigned over a great and beautiful country. He was married to a wife whom he dearly loved, and had two most promising children--a son called Asmund, and a daughter who was named Signy. The king and queen were very anxious to bring their children up well, and the young prince and princess were taught everything likely to make them clever and accomplished. They lived at home in their father's palace, and he spared no pains to make their lives happy. Prince Asmund dearly loved all outdoor sports and an open-air life, and from his earliest childhood he had longed to live entirely in the forest close by. After many arguments and entreaties he succeeded in persuading the king to give him two great oak trees for his very own. 'Now,' said he to his sister, 'I will have the trees hollowed out, and then I will make rooms in them and furnish them so that I shall be able to live out in the forest.' 'Oh, Asmund!' exclaimed Signy, 'what a delightful idea! Do let me come too, and live in one of your trees. I will bring all my pretty things and ornaments, and the trees are so near home we shall be quite safe in them.' Asmund, who was extremely fond of his sister, readily consented, and they had a very happy time together, carrying over all their pet treasures, and Signy's jewels and other ornaments, and arranging them in the pretty little rooms inside the trees. Unfortunately sadder days were to come. A war with another country broke out, and the king had to lead his army against their enemy. During his absence the queen fell ill, and after lingering for some time she died, to the great grief of her children. They made up their minds to live altogether for a time in their trees, and for this purpose they had provisions enough stored up inside to last them a year. Now, I must tell you, in another country a long way off, there reigned a king who had an only son named Ring. Prince Ring had heard so much about the beauty and goodness of Princess Signy that he determined to marry her if possible. So he begged his father to let him have a ship for the voyage, set sail with a favourable wind, and after a time landed in the country where Signy lived. The prince lost no time in setting out for the royal palace, and on his way there he met such a wonderfully lovely woman that he felt he had never seen such beauty in all his life. He stopped her and at once asked who she was. 'I am Signy, the king's daughter,' was the reply. Then the prince inquired why she was wandering about all by herself, and she told him that since her mother's death she was so sad that whilst her father was away she preferred being alone.
