At the year's end Rose finished the college degree。 One week aftergraduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep。 Over two thousand college studentsattended her funeral to honorthe wonderful woman who taught by example that it'snever too late to be all you can possibly be。

首先我想與大家分享一個有趣的故事：記得有一次，大哲學家蘇格拉底對學生説：“今天咱們只學一件最簡單也是最容易做的事：每人把胳膊儘量往前甩。”説着，蘇格拉底示範了一遍，“從今天開始，每天做300下，大家能做到嗎?”學生們都笑了，這麼簡單的事，有什麼做不到的!過了一個月，蘇格拉底問學生們：“每天甩300下，哪些同學堅持了?”有90%的同學驕傲地舉起了手。又過了一個月，蘇格拉底又問，這回，堅持下來的學生只剩下八成。一年後，蘇格拉底再一次問大家：“請告訴我，最簡單的甩手運動，還有哪幾位同學堅持了?”這時，整個教室裏，只有一人舉起了手。這個學生就是後來成為古希臘另一位大哲學家的柏拉圖。這個小故事所藴含的深刻含意是顯而易見的。
法國偉大的啟蒙思想家布封曾經説過：“天才就是長期的堅持不懈。”我國著名的數學家華羅庚也曾説：“做學問，做研究工作，必須持之以恆。”的確，我們幹什麼事，要取得成功，堅持不懈的努力和持之以恆的精神都是必不可少的。古今中外，有多少這樣的例子，巴爾扎克用如痴如狂的拼勁，每天奮筆疾書十六七個小時，即使累得手臂疼痛，雙眼流淚，也不肯浪費一刻時間。這就是他能夠完成一部部鉅作的原因。他給我們的啟示又是什麼呢我想，他給我們每個人注入了一股強大的精神力量，那就是明確目標，堅持不懈，終能成功!世間最容易的事是堅持，最難的事也是堅持。説它容易，是因為只要願意做，人人能做到，説它難，是因為真正能做到的，終究只是少數人。

而如今我們有些同學為了眼前利益，不做長遠的打算，竟在考試中作弊，這種不合新海高中校風的做法，不僅讓學校、老師蒙羞，也失去了檢測自己的機會，而失去這次機會，就相當於放棄了自己，最終一事無成。
成功和失敗之間往往只有一步之遙，想成功，就要堅持。這是一個並不神祕的祕訣。但只堅持勤奮，卻選錯了方向，則令人可悲。“勤奮”不是隻要存在就有價值，偏離了正確方向，方向錯了，就是一列疾速列車脱了軌，你汗水也罷，淚水也罷，血水也罷，那個終點卻是“可望”而“不可及”的了。如果把堅持勤奮美化成點金石，以為無論何種腐朽經過它的點化都會變成神奇，殊不知這就像把一塊石頭變成一匹錦緞，把一束絲線攻成美玉，也許力道、方法都恰當，卻選錯了對象。

上週，我們八年級年級八個班的學生到新鄭參加市教育局組織的社會實踐活動。全方位軍事化管理使我們充分體驗了團隊生活的嚴謹、艱辛、樂趣與感動。
在活動過程中，翻越逃生牆的項目是整個團隊所面臨的最大挑戰了。同學們自動搭起人梯，奮力向上攀越，雖一次次跌落和失敗，但同學們卻永不放棄。不少同學的雙肩被踩破了皮，卻一聲不響，低着頭，繼續用自己的臂膀支撐起同伴的生命，背後只是留下一塊塊傷痕和一個個腳印……他們把生的希望留給了別人，使在場的許多同學都流下了感動的淚水。那個場面，我畢生都將無法忘記。同學們團結、友愛、互助的精神，使我們度過了一道道難關，克服了一個個困難。若沒有同伴的付出，就不會有整個團隊的勝利!

曾國藩是中國歷史上最有影響的人物之一，然他小時候的天賦卻不高。有一天在家讀書，對一篇文章重複不知道多少遍了，還在朗讀，因為，他還沒有背下來。這時候他家來了一個賊，潛伏在他的屋檐下，希望等讀書人睡覺之後撈點好處。可是這個賊等了好久，就是沒等到曾國藩睡覺，還是翻來覆去地讀那篇文章。賊人大怒，跳出來説，“這種水平讀什麼書?”然後將那文章背誦一遍，揚長而去!
賊人是很聰明，至少比曾先生要聰明，但是他只能成為賊，而曾先生卻成為毛澤東主席都欽佩的人：“近代最有大本夫源的人。”
“勤能補拙是良訓，一分辛苦一分才。”那賊的記憶力真好，聽過幾遍的文章都能背下來，而且很勇敢，見別人不睡覺居然可以跳出來“大怒”，教訓曾先生之後，還要背書，揚長而去。但是遺憾的是，他名不經傳，曾先生後來啟用了一大批人才，按説這位賊人與曾先生有一面之交，大可去施展一二，可惜，他的天賦沒有加上勤奮，變得不知所終。
從這個故事我們可以看出，偉大的成功和辛勤的勞動是成正比的，有一分勞動就有一分收穫，日積月累，從少到多，奇蹟就可以創造出來。
